Yoga maintains Th17/Treg cell homeostasis and reduces the rate of T cell aging in rheumatoid arthritis: A randomized controlled trial. Scientific Reports (2023); Barriers and facilitators to yoga practice among people living with arthritis: A qualitative

Can yoga do more than improve flexibility for people living with arthritis? In this episode, we explore scientific and patient-centered evidence showing how yoga supports arthritis management. We discuss a randomized controlled trial demonstrating how yoga helps restore immune balance (Th17/Treg cells), reduce inflammation, and slow immune aging in rheumatoid arthritis, alongside a large qualitative systematic review revealing the real-world barriers and facilitators that influence whether people with arthritis can sustainably practice yoga. Together, these studies offer a powerful, evidence-based perspective on how yoga works biologically and how it can be realistically integrated into daily life as a complementary therapy for arthritis.
